Re: Triggers n sample pads.
Drum pads? Midi Drum kits?
Korg, Yamaha, Roland...
I've used a Roland Midi Drum Kit before, loads of fun but not a drummer so I couldn't see myself using anything like it live.

my drum bud hates alesis due to tech support when the shit fails

Re: Triggers n sample pads.
the midi signals it puts out are SUPER, super short. it's manageable in ableton, as you can lengthen midi info pretty easily, but unusable w/ stylus in logic.
otherwise, nope-- one of the best alesis bits i've ever owned. that and the philtre.
but yeah, you get alesis because it's a cheap solution--- you want tech support, go drumkat or roland. and pay 5x as much.
I had an octapad for years-- it works great, but i'm not doing midi w/o usb any more. certainly not on the road.
