Because a bunch of kids usually ruin the fun, plus there's alcohol to serve!

Liquor license is the biggest reason you're age category is excluded. If a underaged kid were to get his hands on some liquor by a friend who's just trying to "share" or has no respect for rules the venue could be in a lot of trouble. Take that same kid, put him behind the wheel of a car on his way home. Crash. Who do you think that comes back out on? That venue would lose their liquor license.

Another reason, not saying it's you but you're crowd does carry this mentality. The wannabe gangster mentality. This isn't the place to look for a fight. At that age it is common though because kids will try to socially adapt to anything to make themselves look cool when you really look just a fool.

I know in Southern California, one of the big reasons we stopped all ages dubstep parties was due to graffiti. See second comment for thoughts on that.

Sorry man, the rest ruin it for you but you can't blame a venue for protecting their own ass.

agreed, but beyond the license itself, its also a liability insurance thing. venues here in new york city for example, that have 18 and younger events (regardless if alcohol is served or not) pay a shitload more in liability insurance, because insurers are calculating that underagers rave their head off more frequently and don't know their limits...(which is the truth).

if a kid OD's in a venue, the liability is on the venue, not the promoters or dj's. this came in with the rave act in america. general clampdown.

Its discrimination against the young. We must revolt.

It cost 7 quid and worked everywhere in manchetser. got into warehouse project, sankeys, paradise factory....then some scottish bouncer who was on every door clocked on but i was 18 then so it was live.

I think 16+ gigs are rare cos 1. its a hassle 2. it gives off the image (to me) that the night is more commercial and less about the music ....more about making as much money as possible by maximizing people through the door. college kids are a massive market cos every1 still chills in a massive group b4 they all go off to uni etc
yeh can you set a link to that site and the page.peace

I know Anti-Pop Consortium and I'm 16? But I'm in the minority. 8)

I think that the problem is that there are so few 16 year olds that are proper heads. I mean I have so many friends who claim to like Dubstep but really they listen to Rusko and Mt. Eden.

Rinse have put on a few nights which are 16+ which I think is a really good idea, but the lineups didn't look that good. http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=1 ... 22&index=1 I wouldn't really want to go to that. When I had a chat with Geeneus and Sarah, I seem to remember them saying that the youngas nights weren't that successful, or just weren't worth holding or something.

The question is, do we want to go to a 16+ night with shit DJs? Because that's all we're going to get until we turn 18.

I need to get a fake ID Asap though, not just for clubs (which I don't think they work very well at to be honest) but for the Off License!

It's cos 70% of under 18's are douche-cigarettes, and would just ruin raves, and like try and "windmill" and "mosh" at a Dubstep night.
