I've toned it down a bit, it's not drowning the beat as much now.
bass is still real overpowering, ya could just pass it between 200 - 250k & keep ya kick in that range, not sure wea the snare sits, somewea more mid, what software are ya using? have you got an eq analyzer? have a look at the bline ay & then have a look at the rest of the track with it muted.
i real like the components, but its way too muddy to hear really, the headphones im using are pretty decent to hear the overall, what ya using to monitor? mayb ya need to listen to it on different speakers ay?chea

I'm using Ableton Live.

I produced the track on speakers as I don't own a decent pair of headphones as yet (although I can hold of some)

I don't have an EQ analyser no, you mean one which gives a frequency reading as it does with volume?

For some reason the sub bass on the third wobble in first main body has gone. checked the volume automations and they are fine. I dno if anyone can help me with that. And when i bounce it in logic it comes out at a lower volume.

A little deeper. It reminds me of those "8 bit" computer game style tracks, which are good if you're going for that effect but it kinda sits on the fence atm. It's got potential though. :)

@soulshynchyld:

Your track is nice and chilling.
But i think you need to drop it about 45 seconds not 1:30, takes wayy to long i think.
The lyrics are nice but you might wanna cut them during the drop for a bit, seems like your spamming them the whole song.
That treble you have is really nice tho, good track coming along nicely i think.

Here is my new track in progress please lemme know what you think of it.
Thanks in advance.

Edit:
Dont know why it says the track is unavaliable. if you just click on the link then itll work.

Nice chilled track, the wobble isn't too in your face and the melodies are nice, kinda Oriental which I like.

Good work.

It's interesting - lots of nice bits, and it doesn't sound much like anything that I recognize, which is good. :)

I'm not sure how well the bass sound and the snare-thing fit with the rest of the track, though - a deeper bass might work better with the fairly slow moving vibe of the tune.

@ Kontrol - that's a brilliant intro, love all the little melodies. Yeah, a deep deep drop coming after that would be fantastic...

My go:
Soundcloud
Finally got my arse into gear and plugged my Alesis Ion into the computer. Messed around for a bit with some patches I made a while back, found a 303 type sound, ended up with most of a 130bpm acid-dubstep-funky thing. Let me know what you think!

To do: sort out the mix (any suggestions would be appreciated), maybe switch up the drums more often and more heavily, vary the chords a bit more.

Hey, I posted this one early last week and have updated it and given it a bit of a different mix.
Let me know if you like the changes. I think I'm almost done with this one.

Cheers.

You got some nice sounds in the intro. And its gets almost frantic with the arpegiated synths.
You've got loads of room in the high end, which you could certainly do something with, especially around 2:30 i reckon.
And you're right about the drums, they could do with more of a switch up, drop them in and out a bit more maybe. suggestions.

Its only "snippits"... the thread is called "Works in Progress for Feedback".. If I had intended to complete the track, would have uploaded it in the "finished track thread for feedback".. But anyways... thanks for your feedback. And my music doesn't fit normal "dubstep constraints".. more Abstract/experimental.

Post count has NOTHING do with music production. And its a matter of taste. I have posted these 2 didies on another forum and people are liking them.
