Ok, it was a misunderstanding of your original post. "Bombing the shit out of Israel", given the history of (particularly) the Palestinian and Lebanese struggle, instantly implies civilian targets to me... the fact that you then thought you'd get banned kind of cemented that - why would you think you'd get banned if you weren't expressing a genuinely controversial opinion?

Hating a state isn't racism; it's xenophobia at the worst, but most likely just political opinion. There's nothing wrong with disagreeing with a state's politics.

Hating a race is racism. Israelis aren't a race, despite largely all being part of the same race.

Rolling racism into this debate is a massive red herring IMHO. We've got to focus on giving "Land" to "People", not sharing out "Holy Land" to "Muslims" and "Jews".

Is that serious? How do they intend to destroy a continent with three nuclear powers (UK, France, Russia) and several other major armies (Germany, Italy, Austria) when their country has about the same population as London?

Hmm, but then so do we... and so do France, Russia, the US, China, Pakistan, India... and we don't lose sleep over getting nuked by any of those. The closest nations have ever come to nuking each other since Nagasaki was the US and Russia, with us as a close 3rd - I'd look a bit closer to home if you want to worry about nuclear holocaust.

All this fear can't be good for the world. Humans don't want mutual destruction... Soviets didn't want it, Americans didn't want it... I don't see any reason why Israelis suddenly would be happy with it.

People don't press the red button easily... mutually assured destruction was just about enough to keep a rivalry as bitter as the Soviet Union and the US from even going to war with each other, let alone firing any big missiles.

The idea that people will raise the stakes and go nuclear on conflict is a pretty massive leap in logic for me... nobody's had the guts to nuke anything land-based in over 60 years and in that time the number of nukes in the world has increased by hundreds of times
