not everyone can afford 1000s
Re: cd deck/cdjs: any suggestions
I'm still 200 in the red but I managed to buy a single 1000 for £600, I'm hardly well off either. The Phantom Banger wrote:not everyone can afford 1000s

Re: cd deck/cdjs: any suggestions
why would you buy one for £600 when you could buy two cdj-100s for £300?
Re: cd deck/cdjs: any suggestions
all CD decks do the same thing, just a little bit different.
get something that you can afford and you're comfortable with.

- Lack of vinyl emulation
- No cue points
- Reduced screen resolution
- No memory card slot
- I've heard that the controls are poorly made and can loosen over time (although I have not got this deck so can't really prove this)
- I have yet to play anywhere that has these

How would that even work with silent start tracks?
Or could you just not drop anything that doesnt start first beat?

Well I'm guessin you can cue it up to where you want, but there's no option to select any other pointsBasic A wrote:Yeah, uhhhh... fuk that?lowpass wrote: - No cue points

e.g break, drop
The point I make about not seeing them in clubs is:-
The only reason I bought the cdj-1000 (and the technics 1210 for that matter) is that due to them being so popular it means that I can practice stuff at home, stroll into the club and have a fairly similar setup, so I can spend more time having fun and being creative than battling with equipment I don't know how to use/not familiar with. To me that's worth the money, maybe not for other people and I respect that, people might not want to spend that much money on a deck, but at the same time you have to respect my decision to invest in this equipment.
