Coki clangerbangers it up quite regularly but his tunes more than make up for it, which makes him a badman DJ.

Coki is on a whole new level for trainwrecking.
Skream is pretty terrible at times, but I think thats pretty much down to how fucked up he gets behind the decks.

Have to agree Skream was great here...
I'm Aporia's homegirl and we were just sitting here listening to Goldielocks..sorry lady but you BUTCHERED your Scion mix...seriously need to practice programming skills and mixing dropping tracks in with good levels...Quiet>loud.
And...if you haven't practiced cutting to the beat...dont' drop it like you fell while doing so hahaha if anything i gave it an A for entertainment! A "D" for mixing and a big fat "F" for FAIL

yeah, there's a couple of producer/dj's out there like this, don't know if it warrants an internet call out, but to each their own

Well....we were listening to the mix and just really wanted to rant ...maybe make a comment because really it wasnt that good. I wouldn't want people who have never heard me play before hear a mix like that...ESPECIALLY if I were DJing in NYC tonight.fractal wrote:yeah, there's a couple of producer/dj's out there like this, don't know if it warrants an internet call out, but to each their own
I've been DJing for 12 years and I totally support other girls who DJ! But...when people put stuff together that sounds sloppy?? I will call it out.

Re: good producers and bad djs
caspa is nothing special at mixing either
his set for smog last year was some of his worse mixing, but he makes up for it by bringing fresh dubs.
i saw caspa last weekend in LA, his mixing was way better, above average for sure on saturday.
and coki is pretty bad at mixing also
but he is coki so it doesn't fucking matter really

Re: good producers and bad djs
Definitely true. You make a very valid point when it comes to the equipment. in 13 years, I've played on some of the best and worst! I was more leaning toward the fact that a lot of guys who can mix seamlessly, can't make a tune, or even a beat to start with. Everyone has their days on the decks, it's all a matter of opinion, like you said!aporia1 wrote:yeah, matter of opinion. and thats all this is reallyBrandon S. wrote:And a lot of GOOD DJ's are BAD Producers... It goes both ways IMO.also it sucks when you're djing and supplied with shitty equipment (warped records, fucked up tone arms, shitty monitoring) so those instances don't count haha.
was really just curious about where the discussion would lead not to put down anyone, constructive criticism is good even for the big names heh. we're the ones paying for tickets to shows and listening eagerly online
Re: good producers and bad djs
agreed, i hope i get forgiven the occasional "shoes in the dryer" moment... i guess it just makes me sad when we leave the "we're all hear to dance" mentality and switch to the chin stroking mentality... maybe i'm just reading to much into itBrandon S. wrote:Everyone has their days on the decks, it's all a matter of opinion, like you said!
