for the last 14 years or so, I 've been the one playing original versions on parties... I don't mean to offend the originals, I want to smuggle them to todays music
wait till I finish the next 2-3 tracks... some people will hate me

Re: The Doors - dubstep...

Bassnectar just released an amazing mashup with Nelly Fertado and one of his own tracks! I don't know know about Europe or overseas, but in the U.S., especially on the West Coast, there isn't really anybody that is bigger then good 'ol Lorin when it comes to Electronic music, dubstep or otherwise.
He wrote something that talked about how he likes to make music that laughs at "Genres". I LOVE THAT!
Both sides of this arguement have good points, cuz you don't want to cater to 14 year olds, but you also don't want to be apart of the "rebellion", and never grow within the community. The youngsters need to know, as well as the older people. The only way to get people outside of your "scene" sometimes is to mix in music that is timeless, and pop, to bring in new energies.
Honestly I'd rather hear a mashup with the doors (or whomever), then a "true hardcore" dubstep track that sounds like the other 20 million "true hardcore" dubstep tracks. It reminds me of the Hiphop scene, and all the politics involved! Of course, the Remix/Mashup has to be good if you want that respect, the idea of mixing things alone isn't enough. That's where I can respect the Hard Core cats opinions, who have given all this energy and technique into this movement.
I'm just playing Devils Advocate, so please don't hate me. I've argued both sides of this. BUT I love to see a happy crowd, and I love to see inspired people.
plus, I'm a Doors fan, and this is the type of track that might sound good on a nice sunny day in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, smoking on some purple with the Hippy kids, and looking at the sky thinking about how glad I am to be alive!

Taking X song from wherever and calling it "Dubstep Remix" is on some donut flex....
at least sample it tactfully and make it into your own shit.

Fair enough, That's real. It definitly needs more then the words Dubstep Remix on it. You have to add some craftsmanship to it, Something to show your talent as well. Also something to make it interesting, or different, or the original song was better left alone.
I'm still a student myself, Much respect

Re: The Doors - dubstep...
it aint bad but in my opinion if u made a deep dubstep track it would fit more for the sample. but the wobble aint that bad mate dont let them get to ya
