flying lotus is retarded for thinking people have bit his style. how can he make some shit like raw cartoons and july heat and say something like that? and if anything his newer tracks just sounds like dimlite ripoffs + some early/mid 2000 idm.

his music is cool and all but fuck that

i appreciate the fact that hes moving forward and away from hip hop and thats a good attitude to have, but i still cant think of any producer thats biting his style as he says, hes been smoking too much

and thats another thing why are they showing all these drugs in the video and glorifying it, just shots of him smoking weed or books about dmt, this music is not about drugs, they do this cause they know its gonna be more popular because people are gonna think hes cool for doing it SMH . i hope one day they interview an artist and hes just sitting in his basement in the dark painting warhammer

If anything it's his own label that's making similar music to himself.

Nice little vid. I agree with the close ups of the spirit molecule though. Bit lame.

This is it. And I don't think he really cares. He's not on some Raekwon type shit; "I don't want nobody sounding like me on any record blah, blah, blah". He's just responding to the question and being really wishy-washy as he always is in interviews.

I'm almost positive he sampled some Highlife in that one. If he did big ups.

More heads need to be sampling highlife. I think Madlib's next volume of Beat Konducta might touch on that a bit.

Nose Art is crazy as well.

I am encouraged and so happy to see someone such a sucess in a short space of time. I have seen him play quite a few times, and each time has been diffrent, always original and usually humerous! I've been checking out dj sets for over 15 years and i have to say he's up there.

in terms of production, he has influenced more people than i think he would realise. I know he's put up with a lot this last year, having a couple of mutual friends - and to still do this thing and put up with all the non-sense that you get on a day-to-day basis when gigging and travelling, and do 3 albums in almost as many years is something.

hard worker, and it's paying off.

I think album 4 will be the jump off though, theres something about cosmogramma that sounds like theres a door opening.

Oh yeah, I know about DMT. I just think it's a bit sort of 'just for the look' to have a quick close up of a book about it. This is down to the filmmakers rather than Fly Lo, I hope.
