what do you guys prefer?
Wat, you made the switch the wrong way.
I still use both and get good things out of them both.

Reason 4 can be quite good if you set things up good between your mixers and the hardware interface.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

The main thing I hate about reason, is that if your project gets more complex, the wires get messy and annoying as hell, you cant even hit F12 to escape the mess like in FL you can. I know I can put things in combinators, but then still wires from the lower combinators will dangle in the way. Also FL has 99 mixer channels with inserts so you only have to use one.

do you still use reason then?

i have my track parts all in their own combinators now

kick and snare in one, percussion in another, sub in one, pads, synths etc keeps everything tidy

I prefer FL in terms of what i can do as i have the VST compatiblity and working with audio samples is alot easier in FL. Still like to use Reason though.

You ever wonder if there are other producers in parallel dimensions to ours, but in their dimension... Reason has VST support, Cubase doesn't crash, Logics newest platform runs on a PC, and Fruity Loops has a sequencer that doesn't suck. Maybe Stephen Hawking can get me a ticket on the first bus out.

P.S. I use both FL and Reason. Reason mostly, just cause I know it better.

Been using FL for years and just started on Reason. Not sure why but every track I make on Reason sounds much more professional. All the stuff I make on FL sounds cheap, it takes a lot of EQing and compression to get a nice big sound. Sucks kinda because FL's workflow is so much easier.

They really took the time to learn how to use that box and made decent grooves and decent sounds! with too many options available people dont seem to be making stuff as good I think :)
This.

Probably because you have the default mastering suite in reason turned on...
