Soundcloud is the best site for uploading music

Post by feral witchchild » Wed Mar 31, 2010 6:27 pm

At first I didn't think so, but it really is on some shit.

The whole concept of being able to comment on precise moments in a tune is amazing.

Plus a lot of people who are on some shit are on there, including a lot of forum heads and shit.

...plus, just due to the nature of what it is, you kind of have more straight up and honest musicians on there as opposed to myspace which seems to attract all kinds of failed (yet determined) wanna-be popstars and rappers. lawl

I also like the ability to upload 2 hours of music, that's fucking ridiculous...and for someone like me it means I could put like a thousand tunes on there. haha

Discuss.

my beef is you have to be a member to comment. on the other hand you get less spam that way.

Majorly majorly weakenedby being able to see the waveforms, can practically hear the basic song just by scrolling your eyes accross it all

*drop was shit*
*rake to end*

That's my only problem with it, everything else is great. But I can't listen to music with a solid waveform visually there, just puts me in music making mode

Its great overall, but I hate the fact that as soon as it became popular all the good functions were only available if you pay.
It is pretty though, you log on and you suddenly feel at home.

I like it. I hate getting a track shared to me that's shared with 4000 other people though.

I've always put off using it until i started an account over the weekend and so far i love it!! So much better than MySpace (goes without saying really lol) but i get genuine feedback from other artists without the pointless and irritating spam. Any messages or comments i get are useful and constructive and the whole thing is just easy enough and convenient to use. Plus plenty of great music on there! :D

Yeah, that's the best thing, imo.

So many talented people on there, as well.

people who 'listen' to tracks by that way are anyway no honest music lovers. therefor no need for their comment

Yeh soundcloud spam is getting rife, it's replaced myspace flash comments.

Soundcloud is cool, I know what you mean about waveforms, i have to minimize ableton if im lstening back to a tune, you think about it differently..

I love it.

Apparently, they are sorting the spam problem by giving you the option to block people... "Private" does not mean private when shared with 5216 people. I never listen to these anyway. The fact that you or someone else can make a personal comment about a certain point in a track is the big thing about Soundcloud for me.

I really must cough up for a Pro account soon.

Once the waveform for a track spent 26 hours forming, it was a bit annoying as you can't hear the track without the waveform.
