This "NOISE" people are calling Dubstep....

Post by darkside » Sat Apr 03, 2010 6:17 pm

I appreciate im probably going to be hugely un-popular for starting this thread, but here goes:

There has always been the exciting jump-up side of dubstep, but this tear-out/brostep/wobble at the extreme Noise......can it last? If so, how much longer..... (some of it, is sick - but "some" not an hours worth)

I'm finding the majority of DJ sets are becoming similar, not via the 'same tracks' but the same category - noise noise noise.

Q. Is this "NOISE" going to be around for much longer? or will/when will it fizzle out

What happened to the Bass in your Chest, instead of noise in the ear ???

(I hope this is viewed as a valid point, but of course - the usual abuse, merks, bitch-slaps and shitty comments are always welcome too).

:?:

actually i think you'll find you will be quite popular

this is coming up alot, but i think there is a valid reason for this

this is also a good term so that not all the decent jump up gets tarnished with the same brush..... NOISE

yeah this whole thing is coming up quite a few times, with topics like 'Filth Dump' etc. etc. no disrespect to the jump-up side it's just when people try to replicate that sound and fuck it up that annoys me and most people i would imagine.maybe we'll have a divided scene like jungle, who knows.
..you will know your responsibility..

one of the things that attracted me to dubstep is the variety in the sets.Theres nothing better than going out and hearing a heny g track played only a few tunes away from a distance or cyrus tune

what i dont understand is you can make a jumpier track and keep the hard sub bass, cos thats the one mainstay of dubstep innit the bass and it being 140.doesnt matter what you put on top even if it is stupid vomiting noises etc if theres still a sick bassline - for example i rekon 12th planets 68 strikes a good balance, bass heavy but jumpy at the same time if that makes sense

what is annoying is paying to go out and hear these ridiculous tunes which have no rythm - almost like someones just makin it on the spot

I once heard a 1 hour dubstep set that pretty much consisted entirely of Datsik tunes.

Was it a Datsik Mix?

Surely if you didn't like it you would of just turned it off.

People have gota face that dubsteps gonna branch off into extreme areas. No1s gonna stop it.

Episode 37 was a Circus Takeover; - i haven't mentioned the circus crew in this topic.

Also, GetDarkerTV is a reflection of DUBSTEP MUSIC - its not a reflection of MY personal taste in music.

Hope that answers your question

Plastician played too much rusko tunes last night at Outlook.

Probably thinks he is still in Miami.

Joker smacked it though and Ragga Twins made me forget Plastician even played.

Here's what I don't get.... if you don't like 'tear out shit' then why listen to the artists/djs who play it?

I fucking despise clownstep so in order to avoid it I do not attend events, listen to tracks, or listen to mixes by clownstep artists. If artists I once liked start playing music I don't enjoy, I tend to stop listening to them.

I played 2 rusko tunes at outlook last night in a set which contained 38 tracks.

I'm just stating facts. I don't expect everyone to enjoy my sets when dubstep is such a diverse sound. I just play what I feel is going to work best on the night and judging by the audience it went down pretty well last night.

I wasn't about to rinse Joker out when he's on after me. I thought I'd play some stuff he wasn't looking to drop so left out anything on that tip from my set.

Anyway I aint on here to defend myself I have no problems with the music I play in my own sets, thats why I play what I do. I just wanted to state a fact that "too many rusko tunes" was a bullshit statement when each of the 2 rusko tracks I played probably only played out of the speakers for a maximum of 50 seconds each.

I played for 50 minutes. 1 minute and 40 seconds of one artist is not too much. (awaits sarcastic dickhead comments from people saying 1 minute 40 seconds of Rusko is too much).

I missed the majority of Joker's set but its hard for him not to smack it with all his own productions there at his fingertips right now. I'm sure he tore it down like he always does!

I get a lot of shit on here for the music I play in my sets. Its ironic particularly in this instance given that I was the first DJ to ever play Joker's tracks in the first place.
