How do you think dubstep.com will affect DSF and promotion?

Post by wirez » Tue Apr 06, 2010 6:50 pm

I've had a chat about it with a few people...

http://dubstep.com

It's bound to have its own forum....

I'm interested to know how people think this is going to affect DSF... Because I'm guessing it will....

Especially if you include promotion methods... Dubstep noobs are bound to use dubstep.com because it sounds authentic, you can bish bash bosh it in without having to think about a url, my guess it will be topping google straight away... And all these massive YouTube promoters are bound to get a slice in it...
Plus it's getting promo'd pretty hard on Facebook...

I've forgotten a lot of the points I was planning on making but if a big discussion erupts I'm sure a lot of people will be thinking some of the things I was...

i just head of that now! first time :o DSF wins over any forum and as for promotion as you said it will be used by Noobs...

I don't think it will have just much of a effect.
A brand new song!

All the 'filthers' will go here. It can only be good. Some of the shite they come up with on their Facebook page is painful

That looks like a marketing scam despite what they claim, they bought the domain name, you 'register your interest' then they sell your email address to viagra cowboys. If not it will quickly claim the google search top spot and the top selling brutal electro merchants will become king ov teh interwebz. This forum has nothing to worry about, it's already gone to the dogs :)

I honestly think Mt. Eden and their fabricated fan base will have a home there. think about it...the amount of hate they get on here, if they release albums they definitely won't be trying to promote it through DSF.

I think we're witnessing the online furtherance of what I consider the inevitable split in dubstep.

We need the split soon. Filth shouldn't be allowed to be called dubstep and it should have it's own genre.

I don't know what is going on here, I guess I should investigate. No one says there has to be only one board for dubstep. This was the first one and no one can take that away. I remember when they were trying to get a domain name for here and they wanted dubstep.com but someone had already scooped that up. Smart person.

Hi Everyone, Ryan here.

I can say at this moment in time, despite not being completely sure as to where dubstep.com is heading in terms of content, I am almost certain it will not have a forum. I've lurked the forum long enough to know that there is a strong community here, and I feel there is no need to bother trying to move everyone over (not that it would work anyway).

My main intention with the site is to promote the dubstep scene and good music. I don't know if dubstep.com will cause a split in dubstep, because no matter how much someone offers to promote something of theirs, if it's shit, it ain't happening.

jam1: the dubstep facebook page isn't owned by us, however we did have a post on there.
pedro: this isn't a marketing scam, i've put up the register interest form as the site is going to take a long time to develop, with this i can email everyone interested when the site launches.

Please feel free to ask me any questions and post any suggestions.
