Analogue Synths
I'm Looking for a analogue synthesizer that can be used to create a dubstep wobble bass,
Any Suggestions?

Re: Analogue Synths
MODS MOVE THIS TO PRODUCTION PLZ
Basically anything with 2 oscillators that can give you tuneable sinewaves, an lfo with sine output, envelope generator (see below for other possibilities) and a VCA (check they're all compatible too; if you buy them as part of a larger, integrated hardware piece or as modules off the same manufacturer this shouldn't matter). If you want harmonic content from other waveshapes like triangle, saw, square etc or ring modulators and other wave shapers you'll want a filter (12dB/octave is a good starter), tracking function is really useful.
I also recommend a MIDI to control volt converter so you can use the output of a sequencer, one that also doubles as an envelope generator using said MIDI signal will give you hands-free velocity sensitivty and saves a module space(you can tweak a normal envelope generator on the go otherwise).
You'll need something to mount them on (check the dimensions, there's a massive choice in 5U rack mounts though there are other casings), a power-supplying module for convenience and buses for routing plus necessary cables (patch & power leads, MIDI cables etc.. it's a bit like the DAW Reason).

Re: Analogue Synths
Thanks,
do you think a Korg MS 20 would do the job?

Re: Analogue Synths
MS-20 like any other synth with an LFO & Osc is capable of a wobble, and the MS-20 is meant to be great for bass
Osc + Lfo = Wobble
Ya do know the MS-20 on the second hand market is still gonna cost ya about grand, more if your looking for a mint condition one?
I just find it a bit strange that someone willing to spend that kinda money on a synth posting on a forum 'can it wobble?'
This is what you'd want to be looking at:

O, and theres this

The Ms 20 is about $500 if you buy it of ebayb
and I don't think I ever said 'can it wobble'

Lol Jean Michelle Jarre and Kraftwerk spring to mind, not that that's a bad thing
Well, you did saykitholl wrote:I still didn't say 'can it wobble?'
You could make a reverb unit out of jelly using two transducers, like a spring reverbkitholl wrote:I'm Looking for a analogue synthesizer that can be used to create a dubstep wobble bass,

Household percussion ftw
On another note, you can use synth modules to process external sounds so they're pretty flexible (filters, ring mod etc)
