Burnkane, the dubglitch breakbeaty trip hoppy alias of Beatwife, started only as a an experiment in sound design at
a boathouse studio in the North East of Scotland. After producing acid and drum and bass for several years,
Beatwife wanted to produce something new, and that is exactly what he achieved. Having all the time and space
he wanted to indulge in audio and always being surrounded by inspirational, talented people, the world of Burnkane was born.
Playing all kinds of bowed acoustic instruments and live microphone recordings produced through his custom effects,
the output is ground breaking inspiration. Though relatively unknown compared with his Beatwife counterpart,
Burnkane is quickly gaining ground. Not in the least due to his Planet Mu 12 inch that was released in september 2009.
If anything, this record shows that Burnkane has mastered his own style of dubstep: it’s strange, eerie, narcotic and even poppy at times.
Burnkane will take you on a journey you will never forget.
