I like some of Mt. Edens stuff but I really dont get why he gets as much attention and praise as he does, his tunes all seem so simple and never make me go 'aaah cool how did he make that?' what are these unchanged samples you mention?
This is a common bass often heard in both DnB and Dubstep. Ben Verse, Kryptic Minds, Leon Switch, and Alix Perez, are to name a few who use this filtered bass but how does one make it?
Below is an example from Kryptic Minds-768, you hear this bass throughout the entire song and you can't miss it, notably at 2:58 at the break is a good example, just so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about.
Hello dubstep forum, I am new here. I am a grime producer and have being wanting to produce dubstep. So when I found out about this forum, I signed up.
I saw this thread and thought I would make use off it.

I've been trying to make sounds similar to these spacey and organy high pad/synth sounds used by the likes of housey tunes around atm by the likes Deadboy and Kyle Hall. Whilst Im close I cant get it to sound spacey and light enough.
I've been trying and failing to get something similar to the deep deep bass in memory loss by pinch & distance ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXna_48OQkU , at around 1:50 )
could anyone help? thanks in advance
its not technically dubstep but you guys are better at figuring this kinda shit out than anyone i know, how is Trentemoller making these vocal sounding bass synths, especially that "YAIP" sounding one. I'm fairly sure he does most of the synths on his Microkorg (which is incredible considering how sick they sound) so i think its all post-processing. any thoughts? or am i gonna get blasted cuz its not dubstep?
