Why not just contact the desired DJ you want through the agency? Such as Codaagency, Reprise etc Then you'll get the information directly from the source. Or maybe even have a look at the guide and questions section on here? I know it's a little outdated but still it's a better start than just waiting for replies on here.
Re: anyone got any examples of what DJ's are charging for gigs?
yea, might do that cheers.. like i say, just wanted a little head start.. if anyone had any examples i might get a rough guide as to what DJ's were out my range lol
Re: anyone got any examples of what DJ's are charging for gigs?
its generally considered bad ettiquette to go about mentioning prices online, as it can affect what that artist can charge in the future.
sorry mate but the only way to do it really is to get in touch with artist/agency directly. good luck with ur night tho.

Yeah it's bad form to go around saying what you paid to book someone. Most DJs have a range they'll play for and it depends on the size of the show among other things.HRKRT wrote:its generally considered bad ettiquette to go about mentioning prices online, as it can affect what that artist can charge in the future.

you have to put in the work! nobody is going to give you "big bang" unless the work is there....

just give them drugs. strictly no mkat tho.
-almost all promoters are either embarrassed with how much they paid for a dj or on the other hand they wanna keep secret about how few drugs/monies are needed to book said performer. x

You may actually be suprised how affordable some artists actually are and at the same time be suprised how high some 'lesser' artists cost!
You'll just have to go to the agencys and get quotes. Remember the later you leave it the smaller your options will be. Also think about accomadation, Its less likely to be needed for a more local DJ where as say if your getting somebody from up North for a 3am slot its possible you may need to factor in a hotel aswell.

one of my biggest fantasies is inheriting the family money when i'm 50+ years old, renting space, and having everyone i like come play...
