DSF feedback

Post by jaydot » Wed Apr 21, 2010 6:28 pm

I know there is two threads already for feedback on the site plus the dubs section. But I often find, personally, that it deters me from giving feedback on the soundcloud player too. I try to listen and give feedback on a lot of tracks, but admittedly it's not great feedback.

SO how about people write a diluted version of their dubstep forum feedback on the soundcloud player of the song, give it that extra lift it might need comments wise.

I know Gnome was saying he hasn't had soundcloud feedback for a while.

And I will also update the soundcloud "compendium", get more vigourous feedback going seeing as though this is dubstep central.

I also don't get much feedback on soundcloud and I give quite a bit and you see tunes (without sounding arrogant) by someone whos just started with their whole bar full up of comments. I would really love to know peoples way of getting feedback, srsly.

I think it's just a case of putting yourself out there bro. If it's any consolation I'll give you some feedback on the Sc.

hehehehe, I give loads of feedback on soundcloud - my theory is - i'm either a tnuc or my tunes are wack  . It don't bother me at all, I am just perplexed at how people are raving about tunes, even WIP's by people who never post here nor give feedback (from what I see)

crazyness.

I don't get it either. :|

It'd be nice to have that many people listen to my music and leave comments, if if they're all saying I'm shit. lol

I tell you what would make soundcloud better. If you could favourite artists and send a track to each other even if it's not yours. A kind of recommendation type feature.

Is feedback some type of validation for people? That I don't get.

Yeah i think the problem with it is that when i write feedback on soundcloud I feel like I'm being harsh for some reason.

Going way off topic, but not worth starting it's own thread.

What do you guys do for Work in Progress tracks that you're putting up on this forum, asking people for feedback etc? Do you have a seperate profile for them? I made http://soundcloud.com/marshy-wip the other week, but not sure if there's a better way.

+1. Fuck track comments. Dubstep producers begging for track feedback on soundcloud = 14 year old girls begging for picture comments on Myspace.

Seriously, it's exactly the same thing. 95% of the feedback I see on Soundcloud is positive, and almost all of the "this is SICK BRUV" comments I read are TOTALLY unwarranted, usually on really tedious and badly produced tracks. So I'd never actually take soundcloud feedback that seriously. Nobody's ever gonna comment on a track to say "yeah it's alright, but kinda sounds like every other track out there AND it's not mixed very well...."

If I really like someone's music I'll message them and tell them so. That's a lot more valuable IMHO. You're not gonna budge a dancefloor with a bunch of Soundcloud feedback.

Imho this will backfire so bad, people will just give shit feedback (FILTH!!, Sick mate!, This is huge! etc.) so they can download the track.
