This article has nothing about it at all its shallow, lacks any real information, quotes etc.
Fucking screwing that its on a site where alot of people are going to see and read it as well, you'd at least want a decent insight into Dubstep and not this drivel.

welcome to the reality of the recession. you get interns probably around 19 and probably working for college credits at MTV, concocting this level of nonsense, because they refuse to hire real journalists on a wage.

no offense to the original writer, but please understand how powerful your influence is, and how many people it effects. the net traffic on mtv in one hour is probably what we get on this site in one month. more effort please.

I can safely say I've never heard of this 'Joystep'.

Not the best article I've ever read but at least it nods people getting into the music into the right direction.

I'm stumped as to why he would write and publish it, then ask for feedback instead of having it proofed by people who could of saved him & the readers of having another gash article on joyst.. I mean dubstep.

It's not that.

And massive LOL at this being universally panned on twitter, dsf and in my office.

with most people either going into the darker and heavier stuff with producers such as Dub Police and Caspa who are calling it ‘Brostep’. Then you’ve got the leftfield sound which is going under the title of ‘Joystep,’ which is represented by the likes of Joy Orbison, Martyn and Flying Lotus. A step at a time, ay? (Pun intended).
not to be so rude, but what the fuck are you talking about?

pretty shit article, did you just make up shit and throw it in there? :?

its not a great article at all. if he was actually "trying" he would have done some proper research before making the numerous blunders that he did in the article.

it was shit.

At least someone is writing about the other side of dubstep not the conventional "wobstep" created by those purely reliant on straight drum patterns, filtered bass and LFO tweakers... do something new! As for the comments about Bedroom producers... keep outputting your remixes, learn the tools of the trade then make your own sound. Those that are cynical about bedroom producers need to remember that its one of the ways to learn, ok it murks the scene a little but then it helps them get noticed if its a good and boosts confidence to produce their own dubs....

Kudos to the writer of this article, some of its breeze but at least your doing something!
