LOL at this, im not a promoter, i dont even know many people who do nights or whatever, but if you're asking on a public forum about deals to book 'the best dj for £500' you should just fucking quit

if you dont know dj's you wana book, what the fuck are you doing trying to set up a night?!

Me.

I'll play for travel and beer :).

Seriously though.

Contact agencies and ask for price lists, they'll send you a spreadsheet or something of all their artists and prices.

Yeah please edit the first post on the page to take out the DJs names. As with the thread yesterday its not cool to post how much DJs charge.

If your wanting to run a night, think of who you would like to play.....then find out how much they cost. If you cant afford them move onto somebody else. Dont just get a list of people who cost under your budget and randomly pick the ''biggest'' name.

you can book some off the biggest dj's in the scene for £600-700 an hour. me & a couple of other promoters i know have booked certain BIG djs for that price.... so my advice would be spend a little bit extra & book one of them.

like everyones sayin though, contact the agencys coz nobodys goin to say name & prices in these threads.

in my experience it's not really like that

sure, some people will expect a certain minimum fee based on their profile but every booking is different, so an appropriate offer will depend on many things incl the size of the venue and the reputation that your event has

contact the agencies of artists you like and make them your best offer - think about all the things you can put forward to make the offer more attractive to the artist like good quality accommodation, deposit up front, promotion/interviews in local press, guest slots on local radio shows etc

ultimately, most DJs would rather play at the kind of events they personally enjoy and agencies would rather deal with promoters who are going to look after their artist
