Massive Sync Signatures

Post by gutted » Fri Apr 23, 2010 4:29 pm

Hi,

So I recently bought Massive and it's pretty awesome but I was wondering something about the sync rate, like in albino3 you can set the rate at like 1/8* or 1/8T. In Massive I haven't found a way to set those rates, I guess I could set it manually but that seems like a bitch to do if you also you automation...
Anyone?

ya it should be right there. in the LFO right next to rate, you can press "sync" shouldn't be too hard... some things you can't sync though

...I know how to change the rates by using the sync option, Albino 3 just seems to give way more time signatures for the lfo rate to mess around with than Massive. I guess that's just not possible to do then, kind of a let down I must say.

To get triplets you just have to set your number to a multiple of 3, i.e 1/12, sometimes you have to make use a larger number on top such as 2/12 to get the desired value but it still works...

How about automating these parameters once a MIDI sequence is recorded. I have some 8 bar loops and I would like to automate the sync rate over measures to diversify the sound... For example, a 2 bar loop of the A note. In the first bar a 1/12 sync then 1/6 to 1/4 in the second bar. I'm using ableton live so if there is any way to alter the VST sync rate in my DAW I could make that work too.

Thanks
-ken

The automation parameters are there, falls under the name MODULATOR # DEN # being whichever lfo you are using (5,6,7 etc)

Give me two minutes and ill show you in ableton

best way I found to find the automation parameters for anything in ableton is hit record and twiddle with things.

So in the massive interface I only saw the option to select the different "LFO presets" like LFO 5 LFO 6 LFO 7 etc by right clicking in the oscillator parameters and selecting 'modulations'. I'm unsure if this is what I should be using to change the sync rate under the same instrument.
Another thought was to look for MODULATOR #etc under Live's envelope parameters for the clip but saw nothing of MASSIVE let alone a MODULATOR.
Previously I would use the envelope parameter settings in Live to change sync rates and all that...
Astral, if you could just point me in the direction I might be able to find the MODULATOR parameters I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

I also looked in my vst download packet and saw nothing of a User Manual for Massive..

Hit record, press play, change the sync lfo rates, then under the automation box, click massive and it should be staring you in the eye.

Ok, MIDI notes have to be recorded first for Live to route the 'MODULATOR' through.
THANKS ASTRAL!
