@ Kris-One, that bassline sounds hot and I agree with Goose. Keep working on it :)

@ FSTV, nasty tune indeed

Here's the same project again, EQ'd it up a bit and lowered some more reverb on some parts, tell me what ya think

Cheers for the feedback so far guys, got this far with it now.

Still no major mixdown, having some real problems with the drums though, particularly the snare. Also with the sub, but hey this is major work in the progress.

Here's what I got so far,

I really like the idea behind this. I'd try and give the bass a little more movement by sidechaining it off the kick or maybe LFOing or enveloping the pitch slightly. And I reckon lose the reverb on the snare (or have it only on some hits, delay on others, etc), maybe try and make the mini-break samples a little more subtle. But yeah, very cool. I like the whistle melody at 0.50 the best, drops nicely.

I like. Nice sound design. The kick and snare are a little anemic but they should be easy enough to beef up. The rhythm sounds like it doesn't quite know what it wants to be doing - I reckon you could either emphasise the backbeats more (ie big, heavy, halftime) or stick in a few extra kicks and give it a more syncopated double-time feel, either would be sick.

Feeling this one, lots of fun; my main suggestion would be to vary the sound of the main wobble (at a fairly slow rate) so it's not exactly the same throughout the track.

Here's the first bounce of a track I've been working on. Built around an 808, tape echo, twinkly synths and lots of sidechained vinyl crackle. Like any 808 track it sounds a little weak played quietly but pretty huge with a decent sub. Not really mixed yet but the song is basically there I think, so was looking for feedback on the structure and overall arrangement/vibe/parts/melodies/drums/etc before I start fiddling around too much with EQ in the next few days...

EDIT: it would appear that Soundcloud has absolutely raped my kick drums. Not sure what's happening there, they sound pretty clean on my mp3. Still, you can hear the structure well enough I guess, and the crappy encoding actually glues the mix together a bit.... maybe someone should make a "shitty mp3" VST

Thank you for your comment

what you said about the stick, I think it will be easy to implement

and generally to insert a lot of different variations of all :e:
