DOWNLOAD v 1.0.0.1 .... http://www.sendspace.com/file/wkde7w
Instructions to backup ...
(run the install)

launch the prog

set your options

click save

job done
Instructions to restore ...
(run the install)

launch the prog

click restore

select the folder where you saved your vsts

read the message box

click yes to restore

job done
nb.
ensure the paths set in your options are like this :
c:\program files\directory\plugins\
not like this
c:\program files\directory\plugins
(will fix this bug in 1.0.0.2)

requires .net framework

everyone who replied to the other post got a mention on the about form ;)
and please repost / share / blog this app if you like it or found it useful

checks the following folders in options for vsts
you can edit these / add your own by clicking the options button ...
but if you think i've missed one let me know so i can include it in the next update ;0)

* add dvsts graphic to main menu
* add function to export to zip/7z file
* add bg graphic to about screen
* add, add folder button to options screen

Installing to usb pen drive ...
Browse to your install directory (c:\program files\DVSTS\)
Copy all the files in this directory (DVSTS.exe and Directories.txt)
Paste to a folder on your usb drive.

Upgrade instructions ...
Uninstall any existing versions, run setup, and install.

so it dumps everything from the vst folder into a new folder, is this correct?

Does it just back up the .dll file or does it back up all the sound library and shizzle aswell?

Looks like it would to me, I think the only problem you would have is if the VST had registry entries but I imagine only big expensive plugins would possibly need to use them...

But yeah, big ups Trip for the nice upload :D

exactly why i wrote it :)

@dza ... it copies either .... all the files in the selected folders ... or just the dlls it finds to a new folder
I imagine only big expensive plugins would possibly need to use them...
exactly :) .... will have a look see if i can write something to back up the reg entries to .reg file :)

might not be very accurate as i would be searching for anything containing "vst" and tbh some of the enteries might be well hidden / named something other than VST

yeah a new folder you specify when you click save

*should add a restore to multiple dirs option for v2

Solid googlin n I bet you can find all the reg keys for N.I. n Papen shit, I cant think of any others that would even have reg...

Nice one though man, now make something that dumps sample folder too, and life will be good.

theres no linux version just yet ... but if i get chance ill port it tbh i didnt think you could use vsts in linux

there's no CLI interface yet but might add this later just pure GUI for teh n00bs
