Fuck post-Dubstep, best thing about this scene is the diversity. Sub-genres are waste.

I have been making acid(y) sounding techno influenced tunes lately.
they got 4x4 beats but not as campy as bassline house...
I have been calling it "bounce"
not a fan of the "post-dubstep" name tbh...

Yeah "post-dubstep" doesn't really work if you're talking about stuff that set the foundation for the music. You could also have links to what you think fits into the diverse sound, as opposed to linking to Borgore's myspace for what-does-not. Talking down at the things you don't like or see as competition isn't necessary, and is more likely to cause un-useful retorts than anything.

Listen to the best DJ's in the scene and the originators that know the scene better than any of us. All play stuff across the spectrum, just cos there is plenty of awful wobble tunes doesn't mean that there should be a divide.

Agreed. A scene can be for than just listening to music

Y'know, two years ago I'd almost have believed that.

to be fair as well, we have a place for people into 'post-dubstep' to talk, post events, and get to know eachother - the snh. Pretty much every other thread on here is cussing down brostep and borgore. we just need to be more active in the events sub forum and spend more time posting up new and fresh artists instead of chatting about hipsters.

Does no one on this forum actually know what 'post' means?

What I was thinking. It's hardly "post" if we're talking about the original sound. If anything the wobble stuff would be a more likely candidate, but fuck that. How much of a twat would you feel telling people you like "post-dubstep"? All we can really do is support the music we love, and eventually the bandwagon will move elsewhere and dubstep will hopefully become slightly more balanced and less saturated with throwaway wobble fodder.

dubstep is frozen for me.
simple, deep, bass-based steppers or halfstep from 2005-2006...
dmz's first eleven or twelve releases pretty much set the soundation i'd say.
dmz's first eleven touch on most areas of dubstep as i see it.
the new wobble based shit is non-musical usually and makes me think of "clownstep", back when dnb had nowhere to go... except retarded.
don't get me wrong though. there is a place for the non-musical stuff in my life... love the new rusko stuff, but there are a lot of jump-ons that have no business playing out.
fakin hate when i go to a "dubstep" night, and don't hear one good tune.
bangers are meant to be mashed!
