dub is an offshoot of reggae
dubstep is an offshoot of edm

why people get pissed
it's like comparing hard metal with breakcore
real instruments and gear and live people vs 1 or 2 people with a computer or hardware
there's alot of us older folks who grew up with dub long before 2step or garage or what spawned dubstep

well alot of the software techniques derived into plugins etc are from mishandling by people like king tubby abusing hardware in reggae ear when it became "dub"
dropping spring verbs, space delay etc. orig reggae skanks sampled now
and wasn't all around 140
why people get mad dub is called dubstep by newcomers if that makes sense
