when was the last time you visited an inner city center for youth? probably never, because you don't give much of a shit about anyone besides yourself, but i would really advise you to, it just might give you a sliver of the perspective you're lacking so hard right now. sorry if i'm going off on you, but you really have no fucking clue.
you're a fool, and i think you're the only one who doesn't realize it here. nobody else is stupid enough to think that producers like cookie monsta and datsik and excision and 16-bit don't genuinely love the music they're making. why would you even say that? it's such a nasty and insensitive thing to say that i honestly wonder if you actually have ever done anything creative in your life.nowaysj wrote:Yes I think that is the implication, and I think it is true to a certain extent.grooki wrote:are you implying that these people don't actually like the music they make and go and listen to?
i totally agree on this one, guitars are so 20th century.nowaysj wrote:A resounding YES!grooki wrote: Have too many people jumped onto the guitar bandwagon.
you're such a prick i can't believe it. are you saying that because you have a different taste in music that other people shouldn't be allowed to make a tune and let people hear it? do you have any concept whatsofuckingever of the creative process? plenty of people make shit music but they do it FOR FUN AND BECAUSE THEY LOVE DOING IT, something that you seem to have absolutely no concept of. i probably won't listen to it but i won't tell them they don't have the right cuz they aren't in line with my warped standards.nowaysj wrote:Well there might just be too many people playing with music making software and sharing their experience with others.grooki wrote: Or maybe even the music wagon?
again, what more justification do they need then the fact that they're a product of somebody's love and dedication? to assume that there's no thought invested in them is so ignorant.nowaysj wrote:It's not about them being intricate, it's about them having musical value, them having some amount of thought invested in them, them having something justifying their existence.grooki wrote: So forget it. Once you forget it, hating on "brostep" or whatever for not having intricate drums
it's midrange music? you must be a detective, huh? did you figure that out all by yourself? everybody has to sit through some tunes they don't like every once in a while at a show, and you don't see normal people shitting tears over it. they just cringe and keep going. i'm sure you know what DJs you like, what DJs you don't like, who will play the midrange and who will avoid it like the plague, right? just go to the nights that you know will be good and don't bother with the rest. it's that simple.nowaysj wrote:It's about expectations. If you buy a record looking to hear some heavy bass music, and instead you get 59 minutes of classical guitar, you're more than welcome to hate on the labeling of the music.grooki wrote:becomes as relevant as hating on classical guitar pieces for not having enough sub.
Truth be told, I do not like brostep. I really don't. It is extremely annoying. But it has nothing to do with me, or it shouldn't, but that shit is in my face, and in my ears and in my mind because of it's forced proximity to music that I really do love. Brostep isn't bass music, it is midrange music.
and maybe one day, you'll meet me at a show and not even know it, and we'll smoke a blunt outside and have a good time listening to some deep tunes, and we'll both think, "wow, so glad to have met a fellow music fan around here!" you'd prolly tell me your opinions about midrange, i'd laugh and say, "oh, i kind of like that stuff" and you'd say something about how you hated it and it sucked, and we'd both laugh, cuz opinions like that don't really mean shit in the big picture, do they?

this is true there is a lot of really good drums in a lot of really good Dubstep the problem is that there are a lot of new DJ's that can not grasp mixing two of those tunes together so they play tunes of kick 1 snare 3 hyper quantized 1/16 note hats cause it works so good for that mixing style that is so popular now days where its intro against breakdown as to avoid having to beat matchabZ wrote:Sorry bro but that is just more generalization. I think a lot of "Brostep" has a lot more going on than the old 1 and 3. At the same time some of it is that way and yet manage to pull it off nicely. There is a lot of garbage midrange out there just as any other style of music but the generalization is kinda shite imo.
