Fl Studio - How do I use Wasp XT?
Now, I'm aware that there is a tutorial about how to make a dubstep wobble on YouTube; but that doesn't teach me what I'm trying to learn. What I'm trying to learn is how Wasp XT actually works, and I haven't been able to find a tutorial that explains the actual software and how it works. The only thing that I've been able to figure out on my own is that it has three oscillators like the 3xOsc. Whilst I did find a page that tries to explain, I'm still a little confused. To those who might be able to figure this out, this is the page that I read:
http://flstudio.image-line.com/help/htm ... p%20XT.htm
I've tried searching this website for "wasp xt" and all I found was a post saying "<3 wasp". If anybody could show me how this thing works, I'd be very grateful.
Also, what is a wasp xt preset and how did this person manage to make one:

Wasp XT is a pretty standard synth, works much the same as the 3xOsc.
Not sure what to tell ya
Which bits are you confused about?

Mainly things like how to make a preset like the person in the video did.stompzi wrote:Wasp XT is a pretty standard synth, works much the same as the 3xOsc.

Re: Fl Studio - How do I use Wasp XT?
so how to make the sound or how to save a preset?
How does I wobbled bass?
Re: Fl Studio - How do I use Wasp XT?
Both, I guess. How to make a decent-sounding wobble (similar quality to the video) and how to make a preset (also like the person in the video did). Mind you, I'm not trying to copy that exact sound, I'm just trying to learn how to make good-sounding wobble bass sounds.back2onett wrote:so how to make the sound or how to save a preset?

But I can't afford Massive and don't want to use an illegal copy (which I already downloaded but can't remember how to uninstall).Recessive Trait wrote:don't.Chunky549 wrote:How do I use Wasp XT?

don't bother, imo it's really not worth the moneyChunky549 wrote:But I can't afford Massive and don't want to use an illegal copy (which I already downloaded but can't remember how to uninstall).Recessive Trait wrote:don't.Chunky549 wrote:How do I use Wasp XT?
I'm still a little confused as to what you're asking, is this your first time using a synth or do you want to know the specific features of wasp? cuz last time I checked there weren't any except low cpu usage
you know you could always use sytrus instead... just sayin
How does I wobbled bass?
Re: Fl Studio - How do I use Wasp XT?
lets assume youre going to be using this for some sort of wobble...
1st things first, youre going to want it to last for as the key is held.
so go to the 'AMP ENV' box in the middle. make sure ATK and REL are on the lowest,
DEC is in the middle, and that SUS is on the highest.
now when you press your 'm' key (or whatever) you will hear the sound continue for as long
as you hold that key. you can mess around with these settings but that is pretty much standard for a wobble.
next step is your oscillators. push the slider to the left.
now you can work with your first oscillator, literally hold down
the key as you select the different waveshapes, and adjust the two knobs.
once youve got something you like, brilliant. now slide your slider to the right,
and do the same for the second oscilator..but this time, keep on sliding your
slider in between the two until you find a nice spot where the two oscilators together
make a nice sound. you can then add the third oscillator...but i only really find that
usefull when i want to add a little growl to my sub bass.
now make your way to the LFO 1 box, this is where you wobble.
jus check the 'sync' box. now you have two dials 'amount' and 'rate'
as you could probably guess, amount is the amount that it wobbles,
and rate is the speed at which it wobbles. i would suggest amount
being set at halfway, but its down to you and your sound...then adjust
the rate until it wobs nicely. there you go..you have a wobble.
you could also choose a different wave shape for a different style of wobble,
find some nice combonations of OSC wave shapes and LFO wave shapes.
however, if you want a bit more control over your wobble..check the 'filter' box
in your LFO1 section.
now you can move up to adjusting the Filter section, directly above LFO1.
press your key, youll probably notice you no longer have a wobble
(or a verrrrry weak one) well this is where you adjust the cutoff dial.
set it to about halfway, and adjust it from there until you get something you like.
(you may have to re visit your rate dial in the LFO1 section if the speed has altered)
these are really the only settings youll have to worry about,
just keep on twiddling other dials etc and experimenting,
let your creative juices flow right into this.
sorry these are more instructions than the technicalities behind each function..
i know what each dial will do to my sound, but for most i dont know how or why.
even so, i hope this was helpful enough. im sure someone will have something to add because
im not that experienced
EDIT: also a wasp XT preset is basically a set of settings that have been saved.
so you can literally open up wasp XT, go to presets and choose your precreated sound
to then tweak or just use straight away.
to do this, click the little drop down arrow in the top left of wasp XT
and click 'save preset as...'
and then to open it up (or to open a preset FL provided)
click the dropdown arrow, and hover over presets.
your newly saved preset will sit there and remain there even if you close then re-open FL.
basically it saves you having to read all the stuff i said earlier all over again to make a wobble

Sytrus doesn't come with fruity, and massive is worth the money. If you are stuck for sounds, 3xosc will make all the sounds you are after.back2onett wrote: don't bother, imo it's really not worth the money

First thing you should do is read about synthesis. Once you get a basic understanding of oscillators, filters, and envelopes, you will see that most synths are very similar.

Bro mess with the knobs and shit or start by reading about, Envelopes, filters, and lfo and shit. Once you know whats goin under the hood it will be easier to take controll of it.

no doubt, i found sawer and toxic biohazard get down tooLordBid wrote:wasp in my opinion sucks a nut, 3xosc and sytrus are the best of fl for sure
