'Americans just don't get irony.' ?

Post by selector.dub.u » Sat Feb 10, 2007 11:28 pm

It's the oldest jibe in the book: 'Americans just don't get irony.' But they do, argues comedian Simon Pegg - our national senses of humour have more in common than we like to think

yeah i have been reading the onion for years .:D
The author of the Guardian piece Simon Pegg does a good job imo outlining how Americans and the English perceive irony and why there is occasionally misunderstanding as a result of the difference of opinion.

Just think it's a bit rich of certain brits to make out they're so superior to US humour when there are so many of my fellow countrymen who have difficulty "getting" slapstick.

There is fuckwittery everywhere it seems
