As the landscape of underground music evolves and mutates, many are looking squarely at L-VIS 1990 (aka) James Connolly for direction in this “second coming of bass”.
Deeply rooted in the fabric of London’s vibrant scene, L-VIS couples a defined British style with elements of global low end vibrations. By fusing elements of Garage, House, Dubstep and all around Bass Heavy riddims, L-VIS’s sound is filtered and reduced into what can best be described as a minimalist take on rhythmic club beats floating on elephantine subs.
As his original perspective on dance music has attracted the attention of DJ’s world wide, L-VIS dubs have become a staple in the live sets of Diplo, Drop the Lime, Sinden, Brodinski, Crazy Cousinz, Teki Latex and Orgasmic.
There’s no question that L-Vis 1990 is one of the few leading the charge in this new bass renaissance. Those lucky enough to catch his unique Dr Frankenstein like deconstruction of bass genres at Fabric (London),Social Club (Paris) Scala (Berlin) Night Slugs vs T&B (London) are some of the few witnessing the birth of the new school.

“Although he only has two singles to his name, in the swiftly moving world of UK bass music, Southeast London DJ/producer Deadboy is practically a veteran. After the appearance of his sublime U Cheated EP, the Numbers squad snatched him up and released the even bigger “If U Want Me,” which solidified his penchant for swinging garage beats and pitch-shifted vocal snippets.”
