TBH, i dont think its 2 far off dubstep as it is.
From what i remember dubstep is just about anything which revolves around bass so i dont see why juke cant be classified

would be good if anyone who really knows the history could enlighten us! It's been around at least 15 years, with a brief spike in popularity around 2001 IIRC (and possibly again this year by the looks of things) but i know sod all about it before the likes of Godfather, Assault, DJ Funk etc...

Beware the urge to look for a clear and easy demarcation in time as to "when the movement started" because it mostly has to do with names that people slap on it and not the music itself. Ghetto house, ghettotech, and juke are part of the same continuum with roots in the early 90's (but which built on Chicago house proper, which obviously came first.)
