The reason I've not commented on crop circles is because I did believe in them until I watched a documentary on people claiming they were the ones who designed and made the crop circles... yeah maybe that's the ironic part. I saw this docu called "Quantum Communication" and it basically said that we, humans, can communicate via electromagnetic vibrationz. But only a few ppl master it (so called psychics).

In the 20th/21st century when we have aerial photography and the Internet, sure... in the 1800s (or possibly earlier) when they're first recorded, though? Doesn't seem so efficient then. Were the aliens waiting for us to evolve better communication methods rather than improving their own?

I can dig the idea of abstract communication methods between species... but most seem abstract to the point of lacking utility. Why are they always in remote areas? Why not aim for an area with large population to maximise the efficiency of the communication? Why not something we all use everyday? Stain the road network... or do something that absolutely couldn't be of human origin? Are we dealing with aliens that have the power to cross the universe, but not the imagination to try a new method of communication after two centuries of being largely ignored?

Either way, they look awesome and they don't seem to cause too much trouble. More crop circles!

Fair enough. Either way, I like crop circles. They were fun to make when we were teenagers (well one, a little one) and they're often very pretty.

It'd be nice if it was aliens... but in a way, I almost prefer them as human creations... they're often startlingly beautiful!

Hmm, if I didn't understand the process and machinery involved I'd also likely say it was impossible for humans to make microchips. I think I'll wait for a bit more information before I decide to have faith in any theories. I'm happy enough for them to be a bit of a mystery for now unless someone shows a demonstration of the technique used (by aliens or humans).
