Another set of ears please...help

Post by Risky_Business » Tue May 04, 2010 3:33 am

Can you listen to this work in progress and let me know what I'm doing wrong, what I'm doing right.
Where does my production lack the most, what should I study more.
How can I clean up my tracks and improve upon my overall production.

Looking for anyone to help me, I feel like im stuck at this level currently and I want to work my way forward. :u:
Thanks to anyone who has advice that myself and hopefully others can use ! !

THANKS! that really helped me to gain a better understanding of what I'm missing and or lacking in my production.
I think many others will learn from your very knowledgeable response.

As stated on the Soundcloud the second drop sounds alright, just need to work it in. I've actually forgotten what it sounds like  but will give it a listen again.

I think it sounds pretty good.. That first synth that drops, i would make it a tad bit louder on the high end. The sub sounds fine with it. Thats about all i would change.

now THATS how you handle an elitist troll who has too much free time!

what our friend Basic was trying to say before the avalanche of cliche jackassery is that you want to ask this question here:

http://www.dubstepforum.com/works-in-pr ... 41327.html

and you will not get childish replies

I understand where he was coming from. I wasnt looking for feedback on this track, I was just curious if more experienced listeners could clearly see holes in my production skills. Wasnt trying to break the rules, i didnt know/ or wasnt sure if that would too fall under works in progress. Not improving a track, but overall production. Thanks for the tip!

First time it was on my MDR-V700... im taking another listen on my monitors...

Maybe a tiny bit up on the shuffling hats.. And maybe mix up the drums at the end of every other bar...

Seriously.. sounds pretty good to me.
