Hmmm yeah that sounds sweet for me now cause I've got some tunes that I could post if needed to (but don't want to yet). HOwever in the beginning I had, to use Roots Manuva's phrase, half of nuttin. Maybe you're not allowed to post until you have been checked by a mod? But yeah big up FSTZ, I'm gunna stop inning and accepting the bait. This doesn't exclude forum banter which is always top notch. Long live the DSF.

I think that might scare people away who are honestly looking for help, especially if they're just starting out without a song to their name, I doubt I would've joined if that was the case. I think a week (or more) waiting period from signing up to being able to post would be a good idea to start with, I doubt half the trolls who come here would be willing to sign up and then wait a week (or more) until they can piss people off

It would be great if new comers had to read the stickies before even seeing posting and they had to tick a box agreeing they had read the stickies and a ban warning will be issued if they troll post.

Being elite on this forum is not going to work and the owners are never going to go for it so don't waste your time thinking about it. Trolls are one thing but I personally think some of you need to remove the sticks from your asses. There are no new questions. I personally think the stickies are dumb because this is a forum not a wikipedia article. If people want to search for things they can do so on google, if you want a reasonably quick answer for something specific then where do you go? A forum! If you guys don't like seeing the same threads over and over again maybe it's you that is in the wrong place not the n00b. Give some new guys the time of day or stfu. I am more tired of reading all the smart ass replies from forum vets than seeing rinsed subjects to be perfectly honest. Cheque urself getmi.

That said I am not opposed to an elite type dubstep production forum but someone will have to start a new one. I'll join no sweat.

You guys are too sensitive...if you don't like the post, don't read it. I sort through for posts that im interested in and if someone is talking about gear or non local events, or whatever doesn't catch my eye, it gets skipped, big deal.

Half the problem is that people ae lazy to do searches so they repost...but I've often found these reposts bring new information anyway.

Why not have a sticky that is titled

"DATSIK EXCISION TRANSFORMER NOISES"

in capitals. If this is the first sticky it might work... but yeah just ignore the trolls, help out the new cats.

damn i like dubstep from all corners, but then i like all types of music. what i have noticed here, is how many people think they have the best taste in music because thats the accepted norm, yet they are only younguns. they follow people who are in the scene, they have no idea of production, but they will grind it in your face if you go against the grain. seriously the way half of the forum members act.... they don't deserve mala. forever luvn jah, one love, irie eye red eye... yo ear dem aters... dem know a bludclat lot. fool of babylon!!! live love leave!

Maybe split the production forum, the quality one, and the newbie one?

it's not a bad idea. However who is going to look after the new producers?

Just an idea - how's about that whenever a new user signs up with the Production board they get an email and whatever, plus a document detailing all the most commonly asked questions

- Daxicision sound
- Wobble tutorial
- Snare on the third

etc

Like an intro production guide where most of the common stuff is already covered.
