Mt Eden (Yes I know, It's Touchy)

Post by m3camp » Tue May 11, 2010 2:21 am

What the hell is up with Mt. Eden, particularly Sierra Leone. I came across the track by myself so I have no idea what its rep is on the radio and in Europe. From what it sounds like, its has way too much mainstream popularity. I'll say that it has its merits, but doesn't define dubstep.

Without getting into an argument like on the other thread, can someone please give me their take on whats going on with Mt Eden? Also whats the rep of Capsa? I love the guy's stuff but know that a lot of peoplel here don't.

Thanks.

MT. EDEN is a god amongst men, and the name should really be typed in all caps to show the proper respect.

Simply put, MT. EDEN redefined everything we know and understand about dubstep.
He is a pioneer, a legend, a god, a loving father, and a good person in general.

Caspa is all right i guess.
BUT he simply doesnt compare to the majesty that is MT. EDEN

seriously though, we all hate him.

Lol I tend to agree with this guy :)) I mean too much popularity like 3rd track on youtube search --> dubstep . What i meant to say was --> dubstep was better underground I have massive homicidal thoughts each time I hear an Mt Eden ringtone on all the wrong people . Excision FTW ! :D

There's such an equal amount of idiots and sarcastic people with decent music taste on this forum I can no longer define which is which.
To confirm... Mt eden has done nothing.... he is nothing..... forget about him

i don't know how to comment here without sounding sarcastic but... i honestly heard Mt. Eden for the first time YESTERDAY (been listening to dubstep for years but I live in US, maybe it makes a diff?). I can't seem to see why people hate him so much, except as a backlash against his fans who aren't "real" dubstep fans? his tunes seem all right to me, and not dramatically more "mainstream" than a lot of other respected producers.
What's the big deal?
Is dubstep supposed to be like punk music, where everyone turns against it once it gains some mainstream popularity? Seems kinda sad to me. Should we ban anyone from using LFO at 140bpm unless they're broke or from Croydon or something?
Anyway, maybe it's more annoying in the UK but I never really hear much about this guy except other people bitching about his popularity. Any help?

mainly because he takes other people's tunes added a beat and wobble over the top of em. that and he's straight up jacked parts of other peoples tunes and tries to pass them as his own production.
