Analysis of music is like analysis of any art, people trying to gain a deeper knowledge of things they love and/or appreciate
Yeah don't see why some people think it's bad to take music seriously. Music is a lot deeper to me than just a bit of fun, background noise, something to dance to. As pete said it's art.

Aye... But when you've been making different forms of music for a while, it becomes just part of the nature... Like foreign people that spend countless years doing master level studying of the English language and I just picked it up due to it coinciding with my life growing up etc. Besides, the majority of people that talk about music are often on about little more than reinforcing their mindsets, positively or negatively

Fair enough music is art, but music makers are often far from artists and devoid of artistic motivation 'IME'

Just seems the majority of people I've met that always talk about music and loving it are the least likliest people to pick up a guitar or dabble with forms of manipulating sounds. (I know that's completely different in terms of an online public forum for music makers though haha). Like food critiques that can't cook; art critiques that can't draw - their opinion is then forged purely into that of a consumer; numbers of figurative value in the eyes of a middle man... Plus in the cliché world of dubstep when the only feedback ya get revolves around the word 'banger' it paints a picture that it ain't deep it's just manipulated vibes to make people move. The more you deviate from these simple hypnotic properties, the more you're going to struggle with the generic concept of 'success'

I think it's bad to take anything too seriously :R: Look what happened when some brain seriously considered splitting the atom

Before the smoking ban you could almost get stoned at some dnb and jungle nights, loads of people toking away in the dark. Now you just smell sweat or acrid cheap perfume :(

I smoke weed everytime at dubstep nights...

And cliches? Making fun of Mt. Eden is certainly hiiiigh up on my list. There's like 4 threads that say he sucks, and then 3 threads trying to give a witty response to the first 4...

oh well.

I don't have dubstep in my artist name... i have it in my dsf username. but of course you have a higher post count than me therefore you have the authority to make assumptions and be a dick in general, who am i to even defend myself against a dsf legend like you.
