Re: Quitting cigs.
i tried to quit the other day, i dont even want to quit but im just weary of my physical health, i realised most of the struggle is trying to avoid being in situations where you would usually smoke like social situations, drinking or waiting around in public. its not easy. a while ago i got a sharp pain in my heart during my sleep which was extremely scary at the time after that i stopped smoking for 4 days straight, it wasnt even hard its just because something actually made me not want to smoke. at the moment im just trying to "cut down" hopefully to the point where i wont be addicted

Re: Quitting cigs.
thats sounds like a really good plan actually, each step links to the next in a way that kind of tricks your brain. might have to try nicotine gum to regular gum switch. not sure about chewing tobacco thoughdeadly habit wrote:cut back

what about electronic cigarettes though? they actually replicate the physical act of smoking and you can get them with or without nicotine. downside you look like a mug

'Music has the right to Children' - Boards of CanadaThe list author says:
"gets stronger and stronger. ambient but intense. you can't listen to this without smoking. don't listen to it if you're trying to give up. it'll do your head in"

Listened to that album all the way through multiple times without a cigarette.
Now reefer on the other hand... It goes pretty well with Boards of Canada.
fuck off

Dark angel, fall from the heavens above, send me an angel to heal my heart from being in love... After all of the love for you, in my life, but it wasn’t good enough for you, I can’t take no more tears from my eyes.... But it wasn’t good enough for you, I can't take no more hurt from that time....

water is a great option and healthy
far as cigs what i suggested carrot sticks work great for oral fixation (healthy too)
i still crew, dip and smoke though
have quit a few times
nicotine is worse than heroin

Mate, I'm sorry that is complete bullshit. There is no way Nicotine is worse than Heroin ffs.deadly habit wrote:water is a great option and healthy

Nah obviously the studies say that Nicotine is more adictive than heroin etcs, but you never start cramping or get cold sweats and vomitting if you give up cigs.
In real-life if cigs became illegal, how many people would be out there selling their bodies just to get some more Nicotine? If cigs became illegal, no-one would even bother going to a dealer to get them, they would all quit on the spot.

yea withdrawl from opiates is horrid, but once it's done you don't go back to it without a thoughtxarcane wrote:Nah obviously the studies say that Nicotine is more adictive than heroin etcs, but you never start cramping or get cold sweats and shit if you give up cigs. nicotine is more evil imo
Re: Quitting cigs.
True but that relapse rate falsely makes it seem like Nicotine is more addictive. If relapse rates are considered, availability should be taken into account. Cigarettes are in every corner shop you pass, constantly in your line of sight, at friends' houses, pubs, etc. Heroin has a pretty high relapse rate, but people actually have to go out and look for heroin if they're gonna relapse.
If you take relapse rate as a percentage of the number of people who have ever tried Heroin and the number of people who have ever tried cigarettes, you get a much more realistic view, and I reckon H would be higher. Most of my friends have smoked cigarettes at least once, not a lot of them actually smoke.
