Re: dantini., couple tunes.
I realy like Tinsel town and the vip remix you'v done, didn't give the 2nd track you posted a listen tbh maybe later, youtubes taking for ever. I cam across this thread whislt searching, was looking for dubstep productions tips etc
Most producers create sounds from scratch on vsti's instead of using presets but I was wondering if you could give me a starting point as to which vsti you used for those synths & basses after the drop or which waveforms you mixed togther to get those sounds.
The Lfo/modulation I can work out and have a play with (after seeing a few vids on massive on youtube) but those initial sounds/waveforms are absolutely disgusting One of my fav tunes atm but not to keen on the hip hop lyrics.

thanks for the love! btw there's a lot more on my youtube, links in my signature. tinsel town & still alive are two of my oldest tracks, i got a lot of tracks since then up on the youtube. i've got a tune up on ukfdubstep so check that out! yeah this one has some love-it-or-hate-it vocals on it too, the vocals on both tracks can go either way. but i like to experiment with different things & i felt like it went with the tune.Evasion-Lv6 wrote:I realy like Tinsel town and the vip remix you'v done, didn't give the 2nd track you posted a listen tbh maybe later, youtubes taking for ever. massive is my weapon of choice as far as making basses is concerned. i use blue aswell but it has a different feel to it. as far as tinsel town & the vip goes, the main bass i used consists of;
1 saw wave
1 roughmath wave pitched down 1 octave
1 groan wave
add some bitcrusher onto it (from massive itself not from an external fx), bit of white noise, & then i used one of the custom waveforms in the lfo section to get that odd timing. the lfo is through a scream filter. for the bass with the higher pitched oscillator its the same config, just the groan waveform is down 1 octave whilst the saw wave is up 3 octaves. then some eq & it's done. a very simple but effective bass sound i think. i think it's best to experiment around this config because replicating a bass from a song you know is not the best way to go about things. i think it should be a good starting point to learn how to create good basses from simple waveforms. but yeah hope that's inspired you & given you some helpful tips!
