I broke this habbit by starting songs from the intro up, instead of making a beat and getting a bassline going from the start. Just try to shake up your routine.

I did exactly the opposite. But you're right mate. I've broken blocks with switching to audio for drums, by using messed up loops as atmos, honestly there is a lot.

One thing no one wants you to have is writer's block your tunes are sick.

I have so many intros that I'm really happy with, but I'm shit at making bass so they never get finished :(

yup - it's all about just being creative and switching it up. i know these roadblocks are a proper ball ache but view them as an opportunity for a learning experience to push past what you know.

You like that? Personally I hated it because of the constant wobble which is used soo much now that its dead :/

Also does anybody want to do a collab that is good at making bass as I have so many intros sitting around!

im the complete opposite... i can write basslines, i just cant get a song going for shit! i have a 32 bar loop begging to be finished but i just cant do it!
ive also tried mixing it up abit and starting to write intros first then basslines afterwards, but it didnt really help me all that much. though it did turn out alright for the newest remix ive been working on.

im also down for that collab idea! send me a message on here if youre up for it.

i've found creative limitations to be good, if i can't switch it up and i want to keep on pushing at one angle or focus, then the solution is to simplify...i only have a finite amount of not just skill but attention before i get fatigued working at something in a session, and i've found that attention to just being efficient at using the time i have to work on something before i get fatigued is far more important than focusing attention on 'artistic purity' getting that one loop perfect...right. that doesn't work very well and is a good way to spoil the mix. which is why simplifying is good...i'm fond of cutting back my arrangement to just a kick and a sub or a kick and a synth and just working from there. for sound exploration and sketchpad purposes, it can be very helpful.
