Not always. If you build a song entirely out of loops, not putting in anything, then sure they do. However if you start off with one, chop, process it, and then build you're song from there, It acctually brings more creativity into the process.

I got this memo the other day
good for untold and loopmasters for having respectable producers create the samplepacks

These kind of things can be great at certain times.
Out of total curiosity, what does one get paid when one does something like this?

I'd gather someone like Loop Masters would pay studio time (if needed) and mastering and then give you a percentage.
So really, depends how good it is.
I wouldn't really think they'd give an advance.

Just wildly guessing, I'd bet loopmasters gets close to everything, and the artist gets close to nothing...

Probably but I bet this kinda stuff shoots the artists record sales through the roof, you know how many people buy (or at least "buy") sample packs?

having worked on sample packs for sony, it's generally a lump sum, and not as much as you'd think.
Anaconda's the one, no doubt. As important to the genre as Spongebob; a right middle finger saying "oi, punks, we're here too."
big ups to Untold.
