Personal faves from way back in the day - worth a look...

Santos 'Beat The Knuckles'
Mr Fingers 'Washing Machine'
Robert Owens 'Bring Down The Walls'
Rhythim Is Rhythim 'Strings' (first techno record if you ask me)
Phuture 'Acid Tracks'
Pierre's Pfantasy Club 'GTB' - Got the Bug
Armando 'Land of Confusion'
'Acid Tracks' (Trax Records comp - first acid LP)
Phuture 'We Are Phuture'
Bam Bam 'Wheres Your Child'
Reese 'Just Want Another Chance' (creepy very creepy)
Gene Hunt 'Living In A Land'

Later techno with a simliar vibe DHS 'House Of God' from 1991 and Maurizio's 'Domina' from 1993 are worth a blast.

here are some favorites, most of which I have paid far too much for on discogs.

of course.
and if we're going for the all-time classics:

this is a good modern acid record

---
I have the Analogue Solutions TBX-303 clone and the Roland MC-202
I love them to bits, and I love acidddddddddd

EDIT - aaah NSA beat me to a few of these.

A lot of the classics have been mentioned, but just wanted to say the compilation that came out on Soul Jazz a few years ago is an great starting point - good selection and interesting sleevenotes

That record stands above my keyboards. all day, every day.

shameless self-plug- recently did a little funky house jam using both of my aforementioned acid-machines (the Analogue Solutions TBX303 and Roland MC-202)
only mentionin this because you are talking about Uk garage acid

Been wanting a XOXBOX for years. Very tempted to get rid of my rarely/never used APC40 and get XOX'ed up

XOXBOX is beast.
To be honest I kind of regret getting the Analogue Solutions... the sound is tight but the lack of sequencer is completely stupid.
Ah well, the MC-202 has what is essentially a turbo version of the 303 sequencer, and the same synth architecture as the SH-101, so I'm not complaining.

I'm really happy people are doing acid again, in an interesting Chicago way, as opposed to the ultra distorted ravy mid-90s hardcore/UK school.

this one is more loungey / posh cocaine after-party steez, but that line is amazing, and it's a decent take on the Hot Chocolate classic.

As you've seen there are loads! btw the other hip house mix of this is acid was HUGE in the clubs and actually doesn't feature a 303!

Solo Strike The Annette and Phuture tracks are among my faves both of those are BIG

Acid house is one of rawest forms of machine funk ever and again there are many tracks that are due a re-airing

Here a few that I rate

Adonis the poke- Off the Jackmaster 1 LP we all freaked over this one at school- raw and stark 303 and 808

<iframe src="/forum/video.php?url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZBWapHc2Xg&feature=related" frameborder="0" style="overflow:hidden; height:auto; max-width:540px"></iframe>

Phuture are behind some of the all time acid house classics, this was played by the visionary John Peel (RIP)

<iframe src="/forum/video.php?url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDSGess-IKA" frameborder="0" style="overflow:hidden; height:auto; max-width:540px"></iframe>

Laurent x – Machines — Once again John Peel was the first DJ I heard play this (when it came out in 88) and for me this is a work of art check it, hypnotic and raw at the same time. Also check drowning is a sea of house and its magic from the same artist

<iframe src="/forum/video.php?url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ga9p4YE3oS0" frameborder="0" style="overflow:hidden; height:auto; max-width:540px"></iframe>

Marshall Jefferson is one of the most versatile understated producers in house. He is the man behind the pivotal house music anthem, deep house classics like the Truth Open our eyes and Vicky Martin not gonna do it , Ten City etc. As well as all that he produced Phutures early output as well as this one…

<iframe src="/forum/video.php?url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BQXkvdbfAo" frameborder="0" style="overflow:hidden; height:auto; max-width:540px"></iframe>

Armando Land of confusion- The late great Armando left a lasting track that continues to get spins to this day

<iframe src="/forum/video.php?url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-q1MMx9fwDQ" frameborder="0" style="overflow:hidden; height:auto; max-width:540px"></iframe>

Finally and for a bit of a laugh check this- the vocals give the track a sense of fun but the track underneath it more than half decent and could only have come from the UK

Children of the night Tune feat Ranking Roger - We play ska!
<iframe src="/forum/video.php?url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=473Sft8zgtM" frameborder="0" style="overflow:hidden; height:auto; max-width:540px"></iframe>

This,'cos it has the same kinda jackin' energy as the old Trax Cuts.

Someone mentioned Santos earlier but for me, this is his killer track.

An old Psychic TV track the whole EP is full of 303.

and finally (it samples the mighty KLF but comes from the US

Ey,

Here's my contribution to this great thread:
picked up a few acid records I had kicking around and recorded a somewhat sloppy 40 minute mix tonight.
noticed a lot of these have been mentioned already
my mixer kind of crapped out during the Robert Owens track... and a few other moments... not sure what happened, I need to get it serviced.

1. Armando - Land of Confusion (1987) > classic.
2. Mike Mind - Resonate (2009) > somewhat recent Turbo release, from fellow Montrealer Mike Mind. crazy stuff.
3. Lee Curtiss - Life Lessons (2010) > not acid, but it was the only thing at hand that could follow the previous record.
4. Robert Owens - Bring Down the Walls (1986) > Robert Owens can do no wrong (except for that Coldcut collabo a few years back..)
5. Hercules & Love Affair - Classique #2 (2007) > one of the best DFA 12"s IMO.
6. A Guy Called Gerald - Voodoo Ray (Paradise Ballroom mix) (1988) > piano & acid!!! Frankie Knuckles is responsible for this one
7. Da Posse - In The Heat Of The Night (Acid mix) (1988) > this track is one of the greatest things ever.
8. Kebacid - Jack The Potato (2010) > latest Turbo release. Jori Hulkonnen & one of the Dalhbacks. super stupid acid, so much fun!
9. Maurice Joshua - This Is Acid (A New Dance Craze) (Deep Dub) (1988) > the best mix of this track. the end is simply sublime.
