I thought it was a UK ting!

But I guess im wrong.

True. Also the quality of the production just sounds better. Like the lyrics are all really crisp and synced nicely with the beats.

It still sounds like its from London innit?
It think we have plenty of beats from England that are as good as/better than this though. Who's heard that Wiley "Stormy weather" beat? sick production! Skepta himself probably Duppy is one of the best grime beats full stop. nah period

@ obIwan

Hmm.

True, duppy is a quality tune and so is most of the boy better know bits, but its not exactly new! There are a few key MCs and producers who have consistently for the last few years made heavy tunes. But then I think there are so many more who have tracks put out or put vocals on tunes, simply because of who they are or who they are connected to. Man who are just in it for the cash. Im not even saying they're all swag, just so many clones without anything to differentiate between there tracks. Beats that all sound similar spittin bars all about the same thing. I personnally dont like 'stormy weather', but I do like 'avenger' and his new vocal bit 'I got lyrics'.

To me there is a lot LESS quality control than in hip hop or dubstep. I find a lot of the time, grime tracks get ratings just because they are hype, not because they are all that good. For example, to me virus syndicate should be up there with the top boys, skepta and jme, kano dizzee and wiley, but clearly they are not given as much props as half the mcs in london who arent even to close to half as good, and imo this is down to geography.

Im not hatin on uk grime mcs or producers. Intensive snare (plastician and skepta AGAIN (now he really should be as big as dizzee)) gave me the 'faaaackin ell' effect just like the first time i heard 'what do you call it' im just saying im feelin the shadetek stuff because while its still clearly grime music, there is a freshness to tunes. I dunno man, I just like it.

big up for the patriotism tho!

That Xing & Fox track is LIVE, almost niche garage with busta rhymes over it.

Feeling the Shadetek tune with Skepta, not feeling the Brooklyn Anthem.

Still it's a good look, what with all this dubstep purist madness going on.

Big up Shadetek every time.

just search for shadetek. im sure theyres many more us grime producers
dont know any us mcs that spit grime, would sound wierd to me anyway. i think it goes without saying that grime aint evebn on the same level as hip hop in the states. dubstep is definately bigger as well

LOL! I thought the beat with Jammer on it was allright, Skepta was the best bit about the other beat.

Produccy wise, i think Grime has to be a bit raw, too polished and it looses sum of the hype. Also u gotta live in England to make Grime, u gotta be pissed off at our shit roads, shit weather, shit taxes, rip-off prices and "all day breakfasts" that just dont cut it! :x
