will do man, i didn't even know there was an original so thanks for the heads uptomm wrote:^watch the original mate. its in many ways superior not only to the remake but to 99% of science fiction cinema in general.
Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched lately)
aye it's a Tarkovsky classic. on a similar tip, watch his best work Stalker. probably my favourite movie of all time. beautiful stuff.
Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched lately)

Let The Right One In is a brilliant film. Still need to read the book though.
Just watched The Road, based on Cormac McCarthy's novel. Very grim but impressive in 1080p

I heard this was mediocre... Too slow.
Accurate description or no?

Yeah I'd say it's extremely slow although quite gripping in places. I like it for the cinematography and visuals more than anything. Worth having a look
Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched lately)
its not an action movie though. its supposed to be slow paced and meandering. read the book. the writing is a bit off at times but the story is great. its pretty tragic and it's incredibly bleak. the movie did do it justice. thats another mccarthy novel gone to cinema quite well!
Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched lately)
I agree. The Coens did an amazing job sticking to the book's narrative in No Country For Old Men

I thought The Road had a lot of potential but the kid was too annoying, it was too long, and pretty pretty dull.

Watched this as a half hearted attempt at GCSE History Revision
Was a very good watch anyway, Hitler didn't get his MDMA Pizza.

Just watched The Believer, amazing.
In layman’s terms I’m a displeased person; lunatic, maniac, dissatisfied person, madman, prick. You wanna play hard? Well I play in the graveyard and dance naked with corpses playing the depraved card- I’m chelsea smiling with my face scarred.

Crushingly depressing would be better.
I saw it in the cinema with no idea what it would be like and was pretty impressed

Fuck yes, one of my all time favorites. It's still pseudo science mostly, but the story weaves past, future, and present together so complexly, I had to watch it 3 or 4 times to get it. Crrrrrazy one you figure it outResetTheAtari wrote:
Headfuck of a film, will have to watch it a few more times I think. One of the best time-travel films I've seen cause it's actually about the science behind it.
