Behold, dear reveller, this magical kingdom of light, colour, sound, fire, water and earth – as we adorn it with the finest musical artistry the country has to offer…

>>THE FESTIVAL

The Kelburn Garden Party 2010 is an intimate and sought-after affair of just 500 capacity in a magical environment. The main stage is on a natural promontary surrounded by ancient trees, overlooking the stunning Kel Burn to the surreally painted Kelburn Castle. Musically we have a unique line-up of talent from around the UK, but with a strong focus on local acts, with music ranging from funk and hip-hop through reggae, samba, indie, electro, dubstep to jazz and acoustic performances.

Aside from the main areas there will be workshops and performances ranging from capoeira, samba to graffiti painting and dancing on the lawn, and a ceilidh dance in the main square. There will be poetry by the waterfall throughout the weekend, and other random acts of creativity and carnivalesque througout the woodland park.

The Kelburn Garden Party is a truly unique event in Scotland, and designed for big kids and musical connoisseurs alike.

>>THE SITE

The Garden Party is taking place in the stunningly lush grounds of the Kelburn Castle near Largs (40mins from Glasgow, 90mins from Edinburgh), known around the world as the site of the Graffiti Project. Entertainment will be spread over three areas, the Viewpoint Stage, the Electrikal Dance Tent and the Ten Tracks Acoustic Cafe. There will be capoeira, drumming and workshops on the Lawn, a Ceilidh at the main square and Poetry Sessions by the Waterfall. Quality food, bars, chill-out areas, stalls, woodland walks all within the site.

Used to visit Kelburn Castle when I was a kid, they've started putting mini-festivals called Viewpoint sessions which look pretty rad. Just a mission to get to, could be a really cool venue though.
