Maybe I need to revisit this synth... I find the sounds to be very 'flat'...

well then get playing with the matrix and the amp envelopes then. i would suggest just using sine waves to begin with and, see what happens. as time goes on you should get more conmfortable with it. sytrus seemed like voodoo when i start using it, but know it all makes sense. just learn the basics and get playing and you should be good.

I think I'll watch some tutorials so I can get this VSTi under my control.
At least make some nice wobbles with it.

This was actually the first synth I ever used, took a while to understand it especially since I had no clue about basic synthesis let alone FM or additive but now I know I'll never be confused by a synth ever again (not including modular synths)

Also for people complaining about sytrus sounding 'thin' this usually happens when using FM so to remedy this I always put a low sine on output at about 50% I do this for even when I'm not using FM just because it sounds nice and fat

If I wanted to make harsh noises and mid range wobbles, I would be all over this.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

I have suspected this for a long time, but have never taken the time to really learn it properly. It looks so large that if you knew it well you wouldn't need much else. No hurry though, I do well with the 3xOsc :D

EDIT: I love some of the presets on there though. Anyone who messes about with sytrus want to kick me some of their presets? :D *waits for multi-pronged attack*

I also Love Sytrus. It really is a great snyth.

I use it for most of my Bass and Pads sounds but have yet to really find a limit to what it can do.

Oversampling Factor - Enables oversampling in order to increase the accuracy of the Sytrus rendering engine and to reduce aliasing. It is recommended to use oversampling only during rendering, unless the patch complexity and your CPU allow for high quality real-time performance.
