Because an MP3 is compressed audio format which significantly introduces levels of distortion specifically in the highest and lowest frequencies of the track.

As previously stated, we're not stupid.

Bellend.
While wave is a none loss format. (i think AIF is as well, used by iTunes...)
Exactly, so wav holds a wider spectrum, problem with wav is the size. AIFF is the same in a way

Exactly, so there is the answer. Hence why MP3 do not has the same bit depth and bit rate as wave, as mp3 are compressed files I do not have a degree is music tech, and Depone's knowledge may far subpass my's, as he has a higher qualification then me, but this is not a agreeable discussion, its a matter of fact.

I like how 3 posts in a row, by myself, Depone and Nitz, all make exactly the same point.

And this effects bit depth and rate how? Sure you can get on the right track, but then again youre not Depone.
LOL BY REDUCING THEM CAUSING A LOWER FILE SIZE SUITABLE FOR SMALLER CAPACITY PORTABLE MP3 PLAYERS.

Ffs, the funny thing is, noobs require less spelling of things out than you do and you've been producing a WHOLE THREE MONTHS

Depone easily knows more than me on this stuff anyway loool

wirez I can see why your music is trash aswell. -_-. nice call upon arms though, to say depone knows more than you do.

For someone in college your comprehension skills are garbage. Considering i stated that song was when i first started producing DUBSTEP , not music entirely.

smfh.

They are still lpcm format nitz both WAV and AIFF use bitstreaming for data. blah.

Oh right, it all sort of made sense when you said you'd been producing 3 months... But you've been producing longer?

I think you must have bounced your current track as a low quality mp3 and uploaded it to soundcloud or something then mate? There must have been a mistake if you're a good, experienced producer because your mix is really muddy?

How do you think mp3s are smaller in file size then? What do you think happens during audio compression?

So... being educated about advanced music production and audio PHYSICS, digital audio etc..., I dont cut the mustard?

Whatever you say i can come back with a reasonable correct answer. Now im not saying i know it all becasuse i dont. but i do believe im in a better position to make a point than you; A music maker who likes to sample youtube, doesn't realise the defects in this, and makes really amazing assumptions about people.
:z:

I rest my case

Think it might be time for the sane people in this thread to cut their losses. This thread reads like trying to explain gravity to a cat. I mean, the concepts aren't as complex as gravity but this guy is clearly a lot less intelligent than a cat.
