Making a "dog whistle" synth
So would it work to make a synth and filter it up to play at 22 khz to blast at the retarded dog that is barking outside my window? I wanna try it and see if it works!
Re: Making a "dog whistle" synth
well try it then
Theoretically it should work I guess, but I have a dog whistle and 2 dogs and neither of them are affected by it anyway...

can't you just play a really high note on a sine wav? wouldn't it have been faster just to try this rather than starting a thread that has nothing practical to do with production?

I think it's a valid enough question to be in the production forum mate.Recessive Trait wrote:can't you just play a really high note on a sine wav? wouldn't it have been faster just to try this rather than starting a thread that has nothing practical to do with production?

You got nice tweeters?
Do it.
High sine...
Set your root note ridiculously far down, play riduclously far up...
No filter involved, wtf is that about?? Its a single frequency, filter does nothing...

haha, laughing out loud at this one - saw the title and thought "hear we go again" - I think dog whistle's a good idea, you know what'd be better to shut them up though?

Re: Making a "dog whistle" synth
if you have wavelab or soundforge there is a tone generator... not that i condone this, but another thing that used to get my dog going was say an audiofile full of dogs barking like on freesound
