A fun Flash program

Post by dougd » Wed Feb 21, 2007 6:56 pm

The future of synths? Or just something fun to fuck around with...

Pianolina

Blocks of sound float around in space, and play when they hit the walls. Grab them to move them around, or take other notes from the right palette and add them into the songs. You can get pretty good melodies out of it, although they don't last long - their version of the first few bars of Erik Satie's Gnossienne I is very cool.

Some of the composition-spaces have gravity, and the blocks float down after a while and the tune collapses! Others could keep going forever...

nice, thanks! esp playing around with satie (and grotrian) is beautiful - it's quite scary how much harmonic(?) things you can find in chaos!

reminds me of another interesting flash music thingie i saw yesterday, more on the mathematical side: http://www.coverpop.com/whitney/
