got lead in me technics

Post by geiom » Fri Feb 23, 2007 3:34 pm

Does anyone else know about this ? I need a new deck - I was in the shop today and they have none -

they say that a new rule is in place that stops the sale of any electrical gear that has lead in it - and since they have not changed the way they make 1210's (its the solder that contains lead)

- they can't be sold in the UK anymore ! - not in a shop anyhow. crazy ! this is surely not good for the already struggling vinyl culture.....

So i'm not mad then. I know that you can get them new still from places that still have old stock (like the example on the net) but after that.....
