Really it should be filled up with knobs for all of it's menu's functions. But that is a perfect spot for your computer keyboard.

this is my biggest grip with the TI, I want a knob for everything and look at all that space. I don't want to have to toggle between things. I personally never developed a bond with this synth as I have with the others that have passed through my hands.
the white coated finish makes it sound better!

Funny you should mention that. I have a 16th century cast iron Japanese tea pot, and it, for some reason, is out to get my virus b. I now have to keep the teapot on an entirely different table. Given their national origins, you'd think the Japanese teapot and the German synthesizer would get along swimmingly, but no, that is not the case.

Used to have the KC model and found that the empty space was perfect for my Machinedrum.
Mind you would have prefered more hands on control... Hot synth though

I don't like their white/grey models. I have the blue Indigo 2 (C series) and one of the reasons I didn't get a TI (yet) was I didn't like the style of the Polar. The full sized ones are too big for my setup, and the rackmount/tabletop lack keys.
I think the Redback is their sexiest one, it's basically an Indigo 2 in the style of the regular C series.
I was close to trading my Indigo 2 for one but the guy ended up deciding to sell it instead of trade.
There were also 500, and I see them for sale every now and then and last I saw they fetch nearly double my Indigo 2 @ around 2 to 2.5 grand.
