Dubstep artists need your money, correct me if im wrong but artists in this genre mostly make their money from shows.

As far as music goes, their tunes constantly get ripped from youtube.

Anyone who's bought a second hand record is just as guilty as the pirates - you're getting music, knowing that 0% of it goes to the artist. You could buy it new, but you don't. This is no defence, but I'm just saying... there's thousands of defences, but it doesn't really matter, it's just a thing in art...

Artists have been bootlegged from the dawn of mankind.

never really thought of it like that before... i'm not saying i've never pirated, i just wish the music industry supported all the indie artists. i dont want to see my friends turn into Bieber/Cyrus to make some money

yeah but having a youtube rip is NOTHING like having the proper copy

so much that I would go so far to say that youtube ripping doesn't matter because anyone who does it and plays out the rip will not be taken seriously by anyone with ears

Yeah i remember the good old days before fucking limewire emule n all them other swag sites.
buying pirate Cassette tapes from next to the dlr at stratford shopping center in east london.
Fugees The Score was one of my finest buys, that guy had some good music.
I even remember when i was bout 11 or 12 getting my first vinyl Informer by Snowman
I used to think i was a proper badman with my swag as you like double cassette/vinyl player busting out informer  hahahahaha
