Carnevale, celebrated for millennia by the Romans and Egyptians was adapted in 1268 in Venice to include masks. At the final event of Carnevale - acrobats outside the Doge's Palace would build human pyramids and perform the flight of the angel an acrobat would slide down a rope from the top of St. Mark's campanile to the Doge's Places to deliver a bouquet of flowers to the Doge - the city's chief official.
Transcend the ages at Castle Carnevale 2007 and at 9:00 witness an incredible display of fireworks. The party will feature a continuous variety of European style disco with the sounds of DJ Kate, DJ Jeff Nagel. Live music by 'Tasuma'. Other acts include Unifire / 12 fire actors, 3 Belly Dancers, Drum Circle, palmist, tarot readers as well as crafts and other exciting acts. Specialty foods, alcoholic beverages and the King's purse of $1500 ($250 ea.) for best male & female costumes, featuring 3 catagories.... 1) Venecian Triditional, 2) Open Choice, 3) Most Provocative, with Dancing, games and Revelry until 2am.
Last year there were nearly 1,000 people in attendance!
